Start the conversation with us now about this delicious satire by Lakota playwright Larissa FastHorse, the tale of a terminally woke troupe of teaching artists who scramble to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month – while being historically accurate and offending no one. Ocala Civic Theatre is pleased to present the Civic premiere of The Thanksgiving Play, live on stage October 29 – November 15, under the direction of Tuscarora theatre artist Vickie Ramirez, director, playwright, and co-founder of Chukalokoi Native Theater Ensemble.

OCT Executive & Artistic Director Greg Thompson and the show’s creative team also will be on hand to share their collective vision for this groundbreaking production. Come join the cast as they explore the script together for the first time and be part of the creative process from the very beginning. The Thanksgiving Play is rated PG-13 and is supported in part by Marion Cultural Alliance and the National Endowment for the Arts, with Community Partners Dave Schlenker Photography and Ocala Gazette.
